This was the reasoning (from

There is a GSOC project to add version support to the Journal, and check out
the next sentence:

It *is* done automatically, right?

Yes, and I understand that we want to help users give a good name to their
work.  Right now the user can give a document a new name in two ways: 1) go to
Journal and change the name; and 2) go to the activity palette and change the
name.  Note that this is very much the same modus operandi that many Google docs
users will be familiar with, although it's "the new way" for people that grew
up with the UIs I did.

I agree with you.  Would you (separate to this whole GSOC PR discussion)
support a patch to change the default activity name to "<username>'s <activity
name> work" or something similar?
