The reason for this is that there are a lot of people on
jabber.sugarlabs.org nowadays. To make the neighborhood "usable" (i.e.
no overlapping icons etc.) only a random subset of 20 buddies and 40
activities is shown.
Friends are always shown - of course the Catch-22 is how to add them
since search support has not been implemented yet (OLPC #7711 [1], now
SL #1678 [2]). :-/

In that case I'd focus on getting your more recent systems to work as
you need it. F10 doesn't even receive updates from Fedora anymore AFAIK.
