Hello everyone!

My name is Basil Mohamed Gohar, and I'm an avid Fedora user.
Subsequently, I learned about this effort & list from Greg's blog
post[1] announcing the 4gm project as well as the list itself.

What really intrigues me about this idea is the broader scope of
free-as-in-freedom teaching resources.  I am a strong supporter &
advocate of homeschooling and alternative education methods, and I see a
strong base of high-quality and free education resources as crucial for
parents to become more involved in their childrens' upbringing and pedagogy.

In fact, my wife & I are so dedicated to the idea that we've committed
ourselves to starting a business around providing education resources
for Islamic homeschooling families which will have as one of its goals
the creation of a freely accessible & usable community website[2] with
anything a homeschooling family would need to get started and also
develop their own home teaching curriculum.

So, I'm excited to see a project like this taking off, though I'm not
sure, at this point, what I'm able to contribute as I'm neither a Python
developer, involved in the Sugar project, and our first child is still a
newborn.  But still, I think 4gm is the closest thing I've found to the
kind of community effort I'd like to be more involved in, so I'm
following-up on the archived discussions as I write this.  I'm looking
forward to see where this goes and the benefit it brings.
