Anyone going to this conference or want to try to get a paper in? It would
be a good place to get some visibility, the funders who fund OCW usually
send people.

As someone who attended the annual Open Education Conference in the
past, I thought you might enjoy hearing about Open Education 2009. If
you're not interested in this year's conference, please delete this
email and enjoy the rest of your day!

Come spend a few energizing days with the Open Education family in a
beautiful city at a beautiful time of year...

WEBSITE: http://openedconference.org/

LOCATION: For the first time in its six year history, the Open
Education Conference is moving! This year’s conference will be held in
beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, and will be hosted by the
University of British Columbia.

DATES: This year's Open Education Conference will be held August
12-14, with pre-conference activities on the 11th.

COST: Registration fees are greatly reduced this year! The early
registration rate is only $250 Canadian ($215 US) and is good until
July 15.

CALL FOR PAPERS: The Call for Papers is still open! Proposals are due
by May 15th, and the submission process has been significantly
simplified.

KEYNOTES: This year's keynote speakers include Fred Mulder, Rector of
the Open University of the Netherlands, Catherine Ngugi, Project
Director of OER Africa, and Ken Freedman, Station Manager and Program
Director of WFMU.

I'm sincerely grateful to be working with Brian Lamb, Scott Leslie,
and Chris Lott on the planning and execution of this year's
conference. Also, we're grateful for the financial support of
conference sponsors and friends - the University of British Columbia,
the David O. McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University,
BCcampus, Agilix, IBM, and the Commonwealth of Learning.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to seeing you in Vancouver!

David
