Hopefully, the mirror list you currently maintain on the wiki will be
replaced by a link to a dynamically created mirror status page
generated by mirmon[1].  mirmon is not perfect.  But, it can export
the mirror database from mirrorbrain to probe the mirror's status.

The availability of mirmon should give you a better feel for the situation.
