I ve been reading this thread that is spread on several lists.

For those who don t know me, I actually am a teacher in uruguayan public
high school and worked using 1:1 during all 2010 and probably next 2012
will work once more on the 1:1 courses.

I think that teachers are getting closer to technology in a slow process.
We must be patient and just keep on doing and looking at sugar that is
really doing things right.

I am writing this from buenos aires -argentina-  where I came for an ex
highschool mates meeting.
This is important because in that meeting, I was  yesterday  night
talking to  the actual General Manger Southern Cone District at
Intel;Esteban, about  teachers and 1:1 deployments, and he told me
that he saw a
teacher trying to use the mouse as a remote control.
It was not an xo but a classmate and sugar was not at all involved.

The point about teachers and technology is not an inner problem of the
sugar project.  It is a shared problem with all the people involved in the
1:1 educational mode.

Sugarlabs is not at all to blame for failing in getting teachers more
involved, my feeling is that sugar developers are very kind an open to
teachers requests.

We all know that Carlos does not like sugar plattform,  so we must all keep
that in mind when he participates in this electoral discussions for Sugar
Oversight Board.

In fact sugarlabs, rap ceibal, and all organizations supporting free
software on 1:1  are always  kinder and more respectful with non techy
teachers than the official uruguayan deployment (plan ceibal) that -in my
opinion- made some wrong desicions regarding teacher ' s training . (
Distributing a different system among teachers than among children is
questionable desicion for example )

Regarding- the original topic of this thread having a teacher into the
oversight board is not a necessary condition for having an open place for
teachers demands on the oversight board.
Teachers will gain space for themselves slowly and steadily in sugar and in
all this general 1:1 idea.

I think that if I vote for Ardito (as sugar member) this will be for his
own credits that seem quite right for me. Because being or not being
teacher is not a guarantee for having or not an open place for educational
points of view  regarding the sugar labs project.

He estado leyendo este hilo que se extiende en varias listas.

Para aquellos que no  me conocen, yo en realidad soy docente en la escuela
pública uruguaya y trabajó con 1:1 durante todo 2010 y probablemente el
próximo 2012 trabajare una vez más en cursos 1:1.

Creo que los docentes se están acercando a la tecnología en un proceso
lento.
Hay que tener paciencia, podrás seguir haciendo y viendo que el azúcar es
realmente hacer las cosas bien.

Estoy escribiendo esto desde Buenos Aires, donde vine para una reunión de
ex compañeros de secundaria.
Esto es importante porque en esa reunión, que fue ayer por la noche
hablando con el actual Gerente General del Cono Sur de Intel, ( Esteban) ,
sobre los profesores y las implementaciones de 1:1, y me dijo que vio a un
docente tratando de usar el ratón como mando a distancia.
No fue en una xo, sino una classmate y sugar no estaba  para nada
involucrado.

El punto acerca de los maestros y la tecnología no es un problema interno
del proyecto sugar. Se trata de un problema compartido con todas las
personas involucradas en el modo educación 1:1 .

SugarLabs no es en absoluto culpable  por no haber en conseguir que los
profesores estén más implicados, mi sensación es que los desarrolladores de
sugaar son muy amables y abiertos respecto peticiones de los maestros.

Todos sabemos que a Carlos no le gusta Plataforma Sugar y  debemos tener
eso en cuenta cuando se participa en este debate electoral para la Junta de
Supervisión.

De hecho SugarLabs, rap ceibal, y todas las organizaciones que apoyan el
software libre en 1:1  siempre son más amables y más respetuosos con los
maestros non-techy que el despliegue oficial uruguayos (Plan Ceibal),
que-en mi opinión-hizo algunas desiciones equivocadas  respecto a la
capacitación a maestros  (La distribución de un sistema diferente entre los
profesores que entre los niños es una  desición cuestionable, por ejemplo)

En cuanto a el tema original de este hilo de tener un profesor en la junta
de supervisión no es una condición necesaria para tener un lugar abierto
para las demandas de los maestros en la junta de supervisión.
Los maestros ganarán espacio para sí mismos poco a poco y de manera
constante en sugar y en general en toda esta idea de 1:1.

Yo creo que si yo voto por Ardito (como miembro de sugar )  será para sus
propios créditos que parecen muy buenos para mí.  Porque ser o no ser
maestro no es una garantía para tener o no un lugar abierto para los puntos
de vista educativos en relación con el proyecto de sugarlabs.
