Greetings all,
I have been keeping up with the OLPC project with great interest for quite
some time now. As a supporter of Linux with specific focus on audio and
multimedia, I have been interacting with some of my peers and colleagues who
have been involved in developing audio backend for OLPC. That being said, I
have been wondering if there was any work done on the research/design of
sound events which would enhance the Sugar desktop experience since it
appears that OLPC will have a solid desktop audio functionality.
If so, I was also wondering if there have been any proposals/offers made in
order to provide this component of the OLPC desktop experience. If not, I
would be very much interested in possibly working on this particular module
of the Sugar environment. As a founder of Digital Interactive Sound and
Intermedia Studio at Virginia Tech and an active contributor to both Linux
Audio and the overall computer music community, I feel that we do offer a
solid foundation to providing this module.
I would greatly appreciate your insight in this matter.
Should you happen to have any additional questions and/or concerns, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ivica Ico Bukvic, D.M.A.
