You are almost there.   You need to have the related crc file for the
image file you are using on the USB stick.   It should be named the
same, but with a .crc suffix.

Does your Sandisk Cruzer have their funky partition that can't be deleted or modified
by "normal" means ?   That could be the cause of the other problems you are seeing.

But using u: for the device seems to be working.   I would find the crc file, place it on the USB stick,
and try again.
