I agree, and I hope that this happens sooner than later.  But for now
sugar users on the XO don't ask too many XO hardware related
questions.  Staffing one channel is easier than two, and the most
important aspect of having a help channel is responding to newbies as
soon as possible.  With combined effort this should be easier.

Historical reasons.  #olpc used to be general chat and devel, then
with last year's g1g1, geeks like myself (and Ttuttle) spent too much
time in conversation and distracted cjb and mstone, etc.  So they
moved to oftc.
