I find that the problem is ontological: to believe in the _reality_ of
people with different paradigms. Most people in this situation seem to
conclude that the others are lying (or at best insane), in large part
because one's ethical system is at the heart of the paradigm,
intertwined with one's ontology and epistemology. Violation of any is
violation of all.
