Well, it is finished. The last task was approved at exactly 12:00 EST. We
has 1195 students [1] compete and 742 tasks completed [2].

I want to thank all of you for your time, patience, thoughtful mentoring.
I've heard nothing but positive feedback from the students about their GCI
experience and it all starts (and ends) with the mentors.

We do have a bit more work to do:

(1) We need to decide on the finalists (5), the grand-prize winners (2) and
the runner up (1). These must be chosen from the top ten (eleven since we
have a tie) students in terms of tasks completed. Remember that quality
counts more than quantity. Also, please consider the degree to which the
students have participated in the community. Please send your thoughts to
me over the next few days and I will aggregate the collective opinion of
the mentors.

(2) We should mine the projects for any data we want to preserve after the
contest. In particular, I think it would be of value to upload marketing
materials to the wiki (a page for stickers, a page for banners, a page with
links to videos, a page with links to blogs.) We should also ensure any
activities written during GCI are preserved and uploaded to the activity
server.

(3) It would be great if you blogged about your experience as a mentor. And
share the blog with the community.

Again, many thanks for the time and effort to make GCI a great experience.

regards.

-walter
