[Sugar-devel] Wanted: Record activity port to GStreamer 0.10

It is important to remember that the Record activity delivers basic
hardware functionality - it is not just an 'app'.

Perhaps we need two versions of Record. One for the XO-1 and another for
later models. The 'newer' software assumes more modern processors and
chipsets. We need to support the legacy laptops with the best possible
software and firmware. I think most XO-1 users will notice if a new
software install slows down the laptop. However, I can't imagine even
one remarking that the audio is provided by gstreamer 1.0 or the tool
bar is provided by gtk3+.

Our priority is to deliver the best possible educational experience to
our users.

Tony
