Yours is an interesting position.

Sugar is different than other systems in that the mime type is stored
in the metadata of the datastore object.  So having it wrong makes the
object unusable.  But I agree with Daniel and Gonzalo that we should
fix this in the root of the problem, if was not fixed already.

I think that the ticket #2924 is missing steps to reproduce.  If we
can find one reproductible case, then we can reconsider Christofer's
patch.
