If you remove the keep button from an activity (e.g. Hello-World or 
Chat) it will start in a previous version it will *just* not have the 
'keep as' functionality.

Most of the activities do not have to be patched to have the 'keep' 
button removed as it is part of the toolkit's toolbar which most of 
derive from. There are just a few that do place the keep button themselves.
