Excerpts from Simon Schampijer's message of Tue Jul 05 10:53:52 +0200 2011:

> what did you use the notion window manager for? I try to not add code if
> there is not a real use case.

notion is the window manager I use outside of Sugar. By running Sugar
directly in my native X session (with notion as window manager), I can
avoid the usual sugar-emulator bugs and drawbacks.

Or if you look at it from the other direction: notion is very flexible
and unlike metacity can be tuned exactly for my needs, allowing me to be
more efficient and productive while using Sugar (eating my own dog food).

In general, I prefer to give our users free choice among suitable
alternatives instead of locking them to a particular piece of software
(in this case metacity vs. any EWMH compliant window manager). That's
part of what "no ceiling" [1] means to me.

Sascha
