[Sugar-devel] [DESIGN] Modal alert for the journal

Hi,

the team working on adding a backup UI wants to add a modal alert to
the journal that prevents users from using the machine until the
backup operation finishes.

I have heard reports of problems with modal alerts, anybody has any alternative?

(It would be great if someone who has more information about the new
backup UI could add it to this thread)
