I definitely also believe that this would be a useful thing to have.

It's certainly happened to me more than one time that I was so focused
on whatever I was doing (most
likely playing
Implode;-) that I simply ignored the red-light on the XO (which in any
case won't be present on non-XO machines) and
was surprised by the laptop running out of power...
