I have the same problem.
I think, there are changes in cairo:

[gonzalo at ned cairo]$ grep -r cairo_get_dash_count *
doc/public/cairo-sections.txt:cairo_get_dash_count
doc/public/tmpl/cairo.sgml:<!-- ##### FUNCTION cairo_get_dash_count #####
-->
NEWS:   cairo_get_dash_count
src/cairo.c: * cairo_get_dash_count:
src/cairo.c:cairo_get_dash_count (cairo_t *cr)
src/cairo.c: * cairo_get_dash_count().
src/cairo.h:cairo_get_dash_count (cairo_t *cr);
test/get- and-set.c:    count = cairo_get_dash_count (cr);
