[Systems] trac -> notification -> sunjammer dovecot, broken, ideas?

Ideas welcome.

bugs.sugarlabs.org is not sending notifications by mail, it says;

Warning: The ticket has been created, but an error occurred while
sending notifications: 535

freedom hosts trac, and /srv/socialhelp/tracproject/conf/trac.ini has

smtp_user = socialhelp
smtp_server = smtp.sugarlabs.org
smtp_port = 587
smtp_password = something

/srv/socialhelp/tracproject/log/trac.log says

2019-01-01 23:23:19,446 Trac[web_ui] ERROR: Failure sending notification on creation of ticket #4995: SMTPAuthenticationError: (535, '5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: Password expired')

smtp.sugarlabs.org is sunjammer, where /var/log/mail.log has

So is this just an expired password in LDAP, and is that why it keeps
coming back year after year?  Can we do better somehow?
