I agree with the views of Luke Faraone on the tools and my vote is for
civs. I have also edited https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/
Sugar_Labs/Governance/Committees#Membership_and_Elections_Committee (linked
my name to my wiki user page).

Thanks and Regards,
Seetarama Raju (Pericherla)

Good day Committee, Dave, Frederick, Systems,

Thanks for everything you do to keep elections, memberships and wiki users
and editions flowing.

I have created the following cont down to election's Stage IV on October
1-15, 2017:

AFAIK we only have the following pending tasks:

01- Definition and preparation of the platform/tool/methodology to be used
during the election
02- Add new member's requests in a timely manner
03- Check for additional verified emails for the period
<Add yours here>

We thank Ignacio and Systems who will be in charge of task 01.

For task 01 there is a decision pending
<http://lists.sugarlabs.org/archive/systems/2017-August/005520.html>: civs
and loomio have been suggested as appropriate tools.

We should decide on it asap, october is just around the corner.

Also Ignacio stated we could reuse verify.sugarlabs.org server.

verify.sugarlabs.org for membership? if yes. +1 from me.

*#ACTION REQUIRED: Vote/decide on the election tool/platform/server*

I support Ignacio's proposal to reuse verify. sugarlabs.org server.

Are we using it for the voting process? if yes? why?

I dream one day Sugar Labs will have trust among its members so we can
develop and use sugar tools/activities to make decisions as a collective.

@Ibiam @Pericherla @Hrishi @Samson @Ignacio

Please state your election (A or B) at your earliest convenience.

A) civs (has been the tool used historically for SL elections)
B) loomio (will be the first time to be used for SL elections)

I recuse from voting so you will need 3 votes for a decision.

*@Samson, @Ibiam, @Pericherla, @Hrishi*
Some additional tasks I need your help with:

*01 This wiki link needs to be updated* https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/
Sugar_Labs/Governance/Committees#Membership_and_Elections_Committee adding
the new members names (Ibiam, Hrishi and Pericherla) to the Membership and
Elections committee list and references links.

*02* Six months have passed since we started the 2017 Sugar Labs member
list debug back in April. According to procedure described at the Currency
assurance policy
we should *send a removal notice with an invitation to reapply to all
unverified emails to date. *

*@Ignacio*Will it be possible for you to help sending the removal
notices/invitation to reapply?

*03* I will send instructions for access and maintaining the SugarLabs-vote
mailing list to the new Committee members.

Regards and thanks all for helping out!

Hope to hear from you all soon,

Regards and best wishes
