mode well.<br>

I suspect that an abstract layer (somewhere, in the UI or in the code<br>
itself) defined as pitch class would be helpful to organize sets of<br>
pitches as well as have some identifier for unnamed collections of<br>
pitches (i.e. scales).<br>
