Hi, Dave

I don't know if Utkarsh has had a chance to post his gif.animation
of the ux. However, the alert looks roughly like this:

Please provide a name for your project [Untitled] save quit

Where the initial text is just that. The [] enclose an entry with
the default value to be replaced by the user. The save and quit
buttons operate as you describe.

I like 'Name this entry' for this alert. It is short and simple.
However 'entry' is computerese. Perhaps Name this project.

The tricky part is what to say when the user has resumed a document
so the alert looks like:

Name this project [my report on Simon Bolivar] save quit

The user is able to change the entry, e.g. [Simon Boliver Part II]
save quit or leave it and click on save.

So the user has three options - change the name and save to keep the
original and the modified version, leave the name and save to
replace the original, or quit to revert to the original version.

Somethng like: To save as a new project, change the name:
the user to provide a title or to quit (not saving the
document). My suggestion is that the alert should ignore
a click on save until the user provides a title or

just like a password - if you don't supply one, the
login is ignored.

I like that! :)

However, in this case, perhaps the text could be more
self-explanatory and a call-to-action... "Name this
entry"?
