</div></div>If you mean download the metadata about the update automatically, and<br>
give a notification of new version ... there's a risk of scaling<br>
effects; if a class of 30 students boot at the same time and each<br>
laptop looks for updates, the wireless network can be bogged down for<br>
a while.<br>

That's one reason why updates are manually triggered.<br>
