For over a decade, OLE Nepal has shown how a team of people with
different skills and roles can support the XO laptop to enhance
learning opportunities in primary schools. Comparing the scope of what
OLE Nepal is doing with SugarLabs is heartbreaking.

Preparations for laptop program launch in Karnali Province
12 new schools selected in Jajarkot district
We are pleased to announce that OLE Nepal, in partnership with UN World
Food Programme (WFP) and the local governments, has finalized 12 primary
schools in Jajarkot district for the laptop program. An announcement was
made in the district in January 2019 inviting interested schools to
submit applications for the program. The applications were screened by
OLE Nepal and local authorities, and teams from OLE Nepal carried out
onsite surveys at all shortlisted schools. The findings from the survey
were shared with the local authorities to help finalize the selection
process. As part of the partnership, the concerned municipality
authorities in Jajarkot have agreed to install solar panels at the
selected schools since they do not have access to electricity. *READ

Darchula and Nuwakot
Residency Program completed!
Our Teaching with Technology Residency Program gives recent college
graduates the opportunity to make a difference in some of the most
remote communities in Nepal. We train the residents on the application
of technology to enhance primary education, and to assist teachers and
students on integrating digital resources into the classroom.
The residency program in Darchula was launched in November 2018, and in
Nuwakot on December 2018. Three residents were stationed in Darchula to
support 15 laptop program schools, and one resident was stationed at
Shree Bachhchala Devi Secondary School to support the e-learning program
with Raspberry Pi computers.
Mr. Subash Parajuli, our teaching with technology resident for Darchula
2018-19, has shared his personal experience on travelling to remote
corners of Darchula district, to support OLE Nepal's laptop program
schools. *READ BLOG*
