G'day,
Sorry for the delay, I was in the desert.
You proposed UTC 17. That's 3am for me. I can't do that. I can do
UTC 20 to UTC 12.
Suggested topics;
* update the Design Team documentation, e.g.
https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Design_Team/Designs/Activity_Management
* list of volunteers with skills to make Sugar icons; I've often
needed an icon for a new feature, but none of the recent developers
have made any Sugar icons recently, so I had to re-use older Sugar
icons.
On your proposed topics;
* Sugar icons; at the moment the design (see above link) is to use
colour to convey author, and Walter and I would like to change to
use a badge (small SVG overlaid on large SVG) instead, and once that
works add a colour theme to the activity icons. A small code change
first, then a major effort to update icons, with a transition plan
so that activities will continue to bundle an older icon for use
with existing systems. This doesn't really need a meeting, unless
there's something about the change that people have questions about
that they don't want to put in mail. Can we also discuss in mail?
* Sugar Labs branding - Logo; the current logo
https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Marketing_Team/Logo has been working
well, so change will need some thought and reasons, looking forward
to what you come up with; see also
https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Trademark the registered mark,
specimen document.
* Sugar Labs branding - Website redesign; is completed only recently;
there are 76 issues with the new web site that haven't been fixed,
so we should review and fix those issues first before creating a new
site with hundreds of issues?
https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Design_Team/Meetings may be interesting
for history of the design team. See how the "meeting is targeted to
Sugar core and activity developers, but remains open to anyone
interested. Its primary purpose is to open the design approach, making
it more transparent and allowing the community to provide feedback on
both current and upcoming features." As a core and activity
developer, I'm looking forward to hearing what is proposed, and can
share some of the activity and core design changes I've had in mind.
