Happy Thanksgiving.
I'll be "publishing" about 100 tasks over the next 24 so that when the
contest begins on Monday there will be no shortage of tasks. There will be
a handful of beginner tasks and a wide range of programming, documentation,
research, and UI tasks.
However, as the contest goes forward, we will need more tasks, so please
add them. I'll keep an eye on the list and publish them after reviewing
them.
A few things to keep in mind:
(1) There will be a lot of activity on IRC. Please try to hang out on
#sugar as much as possible, especially as we find our rhythm in the first
few days.
(2) Please do not let the students pressure you to sign off on tasks
prematurely. Again, especially in the beginning, they can be very
aggressive about reviews. They need to be patient and we need to maintain
high standards of quality to set expectations from the start.
Note: I am traveling on Tuesday morning of next week (the second day of the
conference), so I will not be online; also I have a busy schedule
Tuesday/Wednesday. So I would appreciate if there is coverage during that
window.
Finally, don't forget to have fun. This should be a learning experience for
all of us.
