[Sugar-devel] Vision

Greeting to all,

I would like to add a few thoughts.
I am a new member to the community and from my personal experience I found
that when it comes to contribution, it is quite difficult at the beginning
to align with the vision of Sugar, the trend and to understand which area
of development is being promoted for the future. I would pretty excited to
see pages like this
http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Development_Team/Project_Ideas being used
extensively to bring in new ideas and showcasing the trend we desire.

I can understand the process to propose an idea that starts with: Feature
Page => posting on sugar-devel for discussion.
But suppose we have 2 sections in the Project_Ideas page: 1) New Ideas List
... 2) Top 5/10 features to be developed now. In this case anyone can put
his/her ideas on the first section which would enable ideas being
brainstormed in much larger scale. Discussion would create more and better
ideas to be implemented. This will be the pre-stage before proposing though
the standard route of Feature page and sugar-devel and I thing this would
boost confidence about an idea for new members to the community. The second
section would be maintained mostly by the experienced members so that we
all have focus on the future trend and can be the starting point to think
for new features and implementations.
