As far as I can tell for activities there is no alternatives. I don't
see a clean command in the bundle builder source at least. Or am I
missing something?

What I'm planning to do at some point is to add support for
out-of-source-dir in bundlebuilder, so cleaning will just be matter of
deleting the build dir.
