You missed out on the PM part, but I am sympathetic to your point, I was
just being pragmatic about pointing out a different possible solution.  i
agree that the best way to promote FOSS is to use FOSS, but don't want to
have that discussion either.

I would still suggest that chatting with the Pootle folks (a very
dedicated, but overworked and under-resourced group) might be worth doing.
They are really nice people incredibly dedicated to i18n/L10n issues in
FOSS.
