did some digging on this. The first upstream release to have the
correct implementation of @online@ is v2.1.7 .

OLPC's XS releases 4, 5.x and 6.x all have an earlier, buggy version
of @online at .

The specific bug we are discussing was never filed as a separate bug
but is mentioned by Badlop during the review and merge of the @online@
code, issue "EJAB-1391" - at
