Sorry for the late reply, I forgot to revisit your mail as it was buried
within the patch series (which I was waiting for feedback on).

We recently disabled digest mode for sugar-devel because it caused a
lot of trouble (breaking threads, especially during patch review).

Most modern MUAs (mail programs) provide methods to deal with high-traffic
mailing lists that are superior to digest mode. Even simple webmailers
usually provide at least some basic filtering to folders capabilities.
If you need help setting it up, feel free to ask on #sugar. While I
don't know Hotmail myself, but there's a step-by-step guide for setting
up folder filters on [1].

The best way to check for mails on sugar-devel is to do a substring
match on "sugar-devel.lists.sugarlabs.org" for the List-Id: header
or a full match on "<mailto:sugar-devel at lists.sugarlabs.org>" for
the List-Post: header. Second best is matching the envelope sender
("Return-Path:") against "sugar-devel-bounces at lists.sugarlabs.org".

Filtering by subject is possible, but will also catch private replies
to a thread started on sugar-devel.

Sascha
