I hope I understand you correctly.

There is a patch which has been applied to later builds. http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Touchpad_driver_changes
I know it is in the os140py build and later.

The touchpad is monitored and if it gives bad data it is automatically recalibrated.

The result is that there are more frequent periods of bad behaviour but they only last for a few seconds
