Hi,
have just come across this piece of documentation about how to get
notified when a certain threshold of memory usage has been reached:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=blob;f=Documentation/cgroups/memory.txt;h=eac22d3b#l477
I don't know since what kernel version this is available, but would be
great if someone could play with making the Shell aware of the
available memory so it killed the right activity process before OOM,
probably after giving it the chance to save to the datastore.
Regards,
Tomeu
