I'm sure part of what Eben was referring to (but I don't mean to speak
for him) was extending the information in the secondary mouse over
Journal palette, so you have more information to act on without
needing to dig down into the details view (which seems to be rarely
used to my knowledge). Here's a quick mock-up:

It could also include such things as a list of tags as shown in
Christians recent mockups (Subject UI mockups 19/08/2009), here's a
quick screen grab from page 8 of his pdf showing the description and
some tags:

For those paying attention, notice also the 'pre-lite' rounded
rectangle rollover treatment, as seen in the home favourite view.
Something for 0.88 perhaps ;-) I'm also interested that Christian used
an 'X' for the Erase icon rather than the '-' sign, not sure if that
was intentional or not given the current design.
Note of caution: We do have to be careful not to overload this
palette, it already feels like it is asking to many questions, so we
have to watch we don't over cook things.
