Awesome, can you try the following?

cd ~/sugar-jhbuild
cp config/sysdeps/ubuntu-8.10.xml config/sysdeps/ubuntu-9.04.xml
./sugar-jhbuild depscheck
<install missing dependencies>
./sugar-jhbuild build
