The issue I am finding -- with TA-79 -- is that files saved to the
Journal seem to be in a different format. I expected gtar. Is there a
change in the fileformat, or should I suspect a problem elsewhere?

Then the ASLO page needs an update -- as it currently says:

As of Version 65, Turtle Art is only compatible with Sugar 0.86+. This
is because it now incorportates the 0.86 toolbars.

Version 63 of Turtle Art should still run under most Sugar distributions.
