In fact, I think there are a few bugs in this workflow -- Mohit, can
you file bugs with detailed information (what builds you are using on
the 1.5 and on the XO-1), and logs from the 2 machines.

If you don't know which logs to include, just use olpc-netlogs to
collect all the logs into one file.
