exactly -- factor network saturation into your plans, as you say:

 - provide UIs to manage and monitor how many people have joined
 - can we get hints that there is high contention on the RF? if so,
show hints to the teacher and knobs to back-off -- maybe reducing the
quality

Your app will have to show users taht that's the intended usage model :-)
