Link local collaboration uses telepathy-salut which in turn uses avahi
for mdns. It certainly works without the "mesh network" - on wireless
or wired LANs.
It seems the avahi layer is working fine.
To get to the bottom of this we need to enable some debug logging.
Please run the following command to run Sugar (in a window) with the
logging enabled:
SUGAR_LOGGER_LEVEL=debug PRESENCESERVICE_DEBUG=1 SALUT_DEBUG=all
GIBBER_DEBUG=all sugar-emulator
Then you should find the following files in ~/.sugar/default/logs:
presenceservice.log and telepathy-salut.log
Please make those files available by creating a ticket on
http://dev.sugarlabs.org and attaching the files. Please state in the
ticket what works and what doesn't (You can see the avahi entries, you
can't see the others in Neighborhood view) and let us know the ticket
number.
Regards
Morgan
