I'm an old-timer;  my thinking is procedurally-oriented instead of 
object-oriented.  The above quote expresses what I am currently 
doing with my external-storage device - though I'm copying via the 
command-line instead of dragging things.  [I even entered ticket 
#6584 to request that my mode of operation be supported officially.]
