No, besides getting the prerequisites there is nothing you need to do 
before you can build the environment. In the case of the unavailability 
of the abiword server - I do have the same issue. You can still build 
the rest of the environment. Use ctrl+c when the download does not 
succeed and choose [3] give up on module.
