Yes, the idea is the reduce the addontypes magic variables to as few
locations as possible. Eventually, they may be moved to a config
files so Mozilla, Sugar Labs, or others can easily redefine them as
needed.

Not yet:( But, if Sugar Labs starts to contribute significant
improvements to the code base, they are willing to meet us half way.
FWIW, I think amo is regularly handling 500,000 hits per day.
Technically, It seems to scale reasonably well. The bit that is not
scaling as well is finding editors to review and approve new addons.
