The only thing you should have to do after a sanity check is now:

./sugar-jhbuild build meta-sugar-base

I think you may have inadvertently screwed up the dependencies here,
causing hippo-canvas not to build.  Try:

./sugar-jhbuild buildone hippo-canvas
