This does sound interesting.  What is the designed-for hardware that SAGE 
expects to have available to it?

[The R statistical programming environment, for example, was designed to 
be run on 8MB 486-speed machines; obviously it runs on far faster and more 
impressive hardware now, but having the initial design target as a 
benchmark is frequently very handy.]
