So it requires at least 2x as large a USB. It will install on 4 GB minimum using "custom": /boot ext4 1000 /balance ext4 no swap but 8 GB allows normal HD "use whole disk" [non LVM] install. The same instructions would apply for a 250 or 500 GB USB external drive install.
