That tends to take a while. Was that on the instance that you installed to disk? I was trying to use liveinst to install to a USB. This is one of the tried and true ways to get a "real install" USB (ext3 file structure) they are much more stable and can repair themselves with journaling if damaged. Maybe you want to delete "quiet" from the boot line so users can see the progress...
