Hello:

I'm sorry to have taken so long to answer

The fastest aproach was number 3, considering my lack of bandwidth, :(

I installed a fresh soas strawberry on a usb, as explained in the sugar labs wiki, the live stick works fine.

I downloaded the extra packages.. gedit wget liveusb-creator anaconda .. and the ran "liveinst"

3-) Use "livinst" command (Anaconda) to install to a hard disk (or USB
4-8GB needed)
* It is on the USB

The liveinst throws a lot of errors regarding lack of space and incomptible filesystems, so i manually crated the disk layout, and than when prompted, y used a customized the installation.

Everything appeared to have worked, i booted into my newly installed system, and i doesn start sugar, i just shows the bash login

That was expected, since i didn't configure any users

i created a user, with it's home, and groups for administration and some other stuff.. and i got stuck there.

I use the "startx" command and throws a lot of errors and fails, most of them related to xkbcomp but says that are not fatal to the X server, and yet it fails

I'm gonna try the other approaches sometime this week/weekend

thanks.. cheers.. R

--
Rodolfo D. Arce S.
www.rodolfoarce.com
