[SoaS] network issues

here's what happens when i issue the same commands i use on my Debian
to get connected to Internet

* commands *
killall -9 wpa_supplicant

wpa_supplicant -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -i eth1 -B

ifconfig eth1 ip_address_here
route add default gw router_address_here eth1

and here's the report from the terminal:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-Kill
Could not set interface 'eth1' UP

i checked that i don't have rfkill on my debian
