I've hinted several times at the appropriate script in our GIT repo,
which is here:
http://git.sugarlabs.org/projects/soas/repos/mainline/blobs/master/boot-helper-creator.sh

If you download and execute this script while specifying a downloaded
SoaS .iso image as parameter, it should get you a nicely working boot
helper.

We're not going to create boot helpers for every snapshot in the release
process, but might do so at a later time (e.g. for v3) automatically.
Once Blueberry is to be released, we'll provide a boot helper for
download, though.

I don't have a complete list. We're supporting exactly what Fedora
supports. Not more and not less. Firstly, because there's usually a good
reason when Fedora doesn't ship a driver. And secondly, because we'd
need to support something we're unable to support (at least without the
appropriate man-power in that sector).

Usually, a number of additional drivers can be easily accessed and
installed through yum using RPM Fusion (www.rpmfusion.org).

So if you tried a Fedora Live CD, that should get you about the same
result with regard to driver support, as when using SoaS.
