It's amazing how the crank/pedal/people power meme is connected with the XO.

The tech press is delighted with this initiative since there is a
perfect photo with it.

Brilliant touch, painting the machinery Pantone-361 green :-)

Nota: the Freeplay crank was not widely distributed due to the limited
power generation (an XO is still needier than say a cellphone), and
there are issues having kids crank for an hour for 90 minutes of
charge time...
